Flora Palaestina II Inventories and Scrolls Rolls

Nurit Gur Lavie Karni’s new book, Flora Palaestina II, is dedicated to her most recent bodies of work, in which she paints the country’s plant life. The book focuses on the “Inventories” – paintings that depict not just one flower, as in a botanical book, but rather a grouping of flowers collected from specific places as a testament to these sites, as well as the “Scrolls” – a group of 11-meter-long paintings that absorbed the artist’s stream of consciousness while working in her studio.
